If your translation project is technical in nature then it's important that you have confidence in the team carrying it out. If, for example, you run an engineering plant and need a safety datasheet translated from Chinese to English there is no margin for error when it comes to accuracy. In that situation, a translator who has a degree in business law isn't going to be of much use. At Swiftran we insist that our technical translators have proven industry experience. We also employ a further set of checks and balances beyond what we apply to "regular" translations to further ensure the overall accuracy of your translation.

Rather than farm out your job to a freelancer who provides a "best fit" in terms of technical expertise we insist on allocating technical translations exclusively to language professionals who have a documented background in that field. Only an individual who has hands-on experience of a specialised sector will be able to fully grasp the specific context in which their translation will be used. There are terms unique to every industry that only people who know that industry inside out will understand. At Swiftran, our "no compromise" approach ensures that we will select the right people for your technical translation every time.

Once we receive your technical document they will firstly be appraised by our in-house team to resolve any ambiguities that may exist in your original text. When these issues have been resolved we will then forward the source text to an appropriate translator selected from our database. The translator will then get to work on the project often referring back to the client to get clarification on certain points. Context and meaning can be hard to translate and in a technical translation project we believe that it's always better to research, check and then double check all ambiguities, even if it means the project taking slightly longer.

After the initial translation has been completed the document is then forwarded to our native language proof-reader. The proofreader will go through the text in detail marking recommended changes or flagging up points which they feel require clarification. The two linguists will then discuss these points and resolve them between themselves ensuring the finished product is of the highest possible standard. Only at this stage will the document be ready to forward to the client. We believe that this system provides the most accurate and quickest solution to the very complex task of technical translation.
