However large or small your translation project is it's essential that you engage the help of a professional and reliable service. When communicating in a language you don't understand you need to be confident that your message is being delivered clearly and accurately with no embarrassing or potentially costly mistakes. Swiftran has a database of over 2000 language professionals from all four corners of the globe whose main goal is to deliver an accurate, on-time translation. Every one has had to go through our rigorous selection procedure which includes sitting tests, completing trial translations and providing us with two recent referees.

Alongside this large pool of language talent we also have our UK based team of project managers who are available to talk through your project with you and make sure that we find you the right solution at the right price. We believe that this combination of highly skilled language professionals coupled with a committed and plain talking customer support team sets the Swiftran service apart from most others.

Most translation projects will begin with the document in question being submitted to us in an electronic format (Word document, PDF, text file etc). We will conduct a quick appraisal of this "source text" before referring back to you with a price, a delivery date and suggestions as to which specific translation service would be most appropriate to your needs. If you're happy with this our project managers will then consider which of our team of linguists will be best suited to your job. This decision will be based on such factors as language paring, subject matter and size of job. Your source files will then be submitted to our translator along with details of the job's delivery date.

Unless a document is only intended for internal use or to get the general gist of a piece of correspondence we usually recommend that a translated document is proof-read/edited. This involves a second, independent language expert checking the translated text for errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation and layout. Once this task is complete they will also check for errors in context or "semantics", making sure that the original translator hasn't made any obvious errors in how any given part of the source text is translated. Only once this checking process is complete will the document be returned to the client.

Often, on larger projects, it is necessary to have several translators working on the one job. Maintaining continuity within your translation is essential in this scenario and at Swiftran we achieve this by use of specialist "Translation Memory" software. This software works by storing "blocks" of text in a memory as they are translated by our linguists. If a saved "block" is repeated later on in a text the translator is alerted and can summon this previous translation from memory instead of having to re-translate it. This means that documents can be shared among several translators with no negative impact on consistency, projects can be completed quicker and clients save money by not paying to have the same phrases translated more than once.
