Professional interpreting can be split into two main types, both of which are offered by Swiftran; Simultaneous Interpreting and Consecutive Interpreting. Which service is right for you really depends on your specific needs.
This type of interpretation is the most common type requested and involves the least amount of time to arrange. Your linguist will translate in blocks of three or four sentences waiting until the speaker has finished talking before relaying the information back to you. This is the type of interpretation used in most public sector settings including courts and is also the standard for most business meetings.
Simultaneous interpretation is usually requested where more than one language is involved for instance, during a conference where there are delegates of many nationalities. Linguists will interpret as the main speaker talks, in real-time, and will broadcast this interpretation via headphones. For this type of interpretation there are audio technology requirements which we will be happy to discuss with you.
Swiftran interpreters abide by a strict Code of Ethics and Confidentiality. They are professionals who are bound not only by a professional code of ethics, but also by written company policies and procedures that prohibit them from divulging any information about an assignment.
